Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 20, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how QueckBiz uses them, and what choices you have regarding their use. We are committed to being transparent about our use of cookies and making it easy for you to control your preferences.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit them. They are stored by your browser and sent back to the originating website each time you return. Cookies allow websites to remember information about your visit, such as your preferred language or login status, and to gather analytics data about how the site is used.
Cookies are not programs and cannot carry viruses or malware. They cannot access other files on your device or run any code on your computer. They simply store small pieces of text data that websites use to function more effectively or to understand their audience better.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary (Functional) Storage
QueckBiz uses browser local storage — not cookies — to save two user preferences that make the site easier to use:
- Theme preference — Whether you prefer light or dark mode. Without this, the site would reset to its default appearance every time you visit.
- Language preference — Your selected language (English or French). Without this, the site would display in the default language on every visit.
- Cookie consent decision — Whether you have accepted or declined optional cookies, so we do not ask you again on every visit.
These are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers. You can clear them at any time through your browser's settings (usually under Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Local storage).
2.2 Analytics Cookies (Optional — requires consent)
If you accept cookies, QueckBiz uses Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymized data about how visitors use our website. This helps us understand which tools are most popular, where users encounter difficulties, and how to improve the site. Analytics cookies may collect:
- Pages you visited and in what order
- How long you spent on each page
- Your approximate geographic location (country and city level)
- Your browser type, version, and device type
- How you arrived at our site (search engine, direct link, referral)
This data is aggregated and anonymized. We cannot identify you personally from analytics data. Google Analytics data is stored on Google's servers in accordance with their data retention policies and privacy policy.
2.3 Advertising Cookies (Optional — requires consent)
QueckBiz displays advertisements through Google AdSense to fund the free operation of the platform. If you accept cookies, AdSense may use advertising cookies to show you ads relevant to your interests based on your browsing history. These cookies are placed by Google and are subject to Google's privacy policy and terms of service.
If you decline cookies, you will still see advertisements, but they will be non-personalized — based on the content of the page you are viewing rather than your personal browsing history. Non-personalized ads generate slightly less revenue but fully respect your privacy preference.
3. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
When you first visit QueckBiz, a consent banner asks whether you accept or decline optional cookies. Your choice is remembered using browser local storage. You can change your preference at any time using any of these methods:
- Clear local storage — Open your browser settings, find the option to clear site data or local storage for queckbiz.com, and clear it. The consent banner will appear again on your next visit.
- Browser settings — Most browsers allow you to block all cookies or manage them by site. Blocking all cookies will prevent analytics and advertising cookies but may affect some site functionality.
- Google Ad Settings — Visit adssettings.google.com to manage how Google uses your data for advertising purposes across all websites, not just QueckBiz.
- Google Analytics Opt-Out — Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent Google Analytics from tracking your visits across all websites.
4. Third-Party Cookies
The third-party services integrated into QueckBiz may set their own cookies. These are governed by the privacy policies of those services, not by this Cookie Policy:
- Google Analytics — Google Privacy Policy
- Google AdSense — Google Privacy Policy
5. Cookie Duration
The cookies and local storage items used by QueckBiz and its third-party partners have varying lifespans. Our functional local storage items persist until you manually clear them or clear your browser data. Google Analytics cookies typically have a duration of 2 years. Google AdSense cookies may persist for up to 13 months, depending on the specific cookie type.
6. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our use of cookies or applicable law. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
7. Contact
If you have questions about our use of cookies, please contact us at [email protected].
8. Cookies and Privacy Regulations
Privacy regulations in various jurisdictions place specific requirements on how websites must obtain consent for cookies. QueckBiz operates in compliance with the following frameworks:
GDPR (EU/EEA): The General Data Protection Regulation requires websites to obtain informed, freely given, specific, and unambiguous consent before setting non-essential cookies. Our consent banner implements this by defaulting all optional tracking to "denied" and only activating analytics and advertising cookies after explicit user acceptance. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your local storage.
UK GDPR: Following the UK's departure from the EU, the UK retained equivalent cookie consent requirements under the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). Our consent mechanism satisfies these requirements in the same way as for EU users.
CCPA (California, USA): The California Consumer Privacy Act does not specifically require opt-in consent for cookies, but does require businesses to provide clear disclosure of what data is collected and to allow users to opt out of the sale of personal information. QueckBiz does not sell personal information. Our cookie disclosure in this policy and our consent mechanism ensure compliance with CCPA transparency requirements.
9. What Happens If You Block All Cookies
If you block all cookies through your browser settings rather than using our consent banner, the following will occur:
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics will not be set, and your visit will not be tracked.
- Advertising cookies from Google AdSense may not be set, and you may see non-personalized ads or fewer ads depending on your browser configuration.
- Our functional local storage items (theme preference, language preference, consent decision) may also be blocked in some browsers that treat local storage restrictions the same as cookie restrictions. If this happens, the site will still work but will not remember your preferences between visits.
QueckBiz's core functionality — creating, downloading, and printing business documents — works fully regardless of your cookie settings. Cookies and local storage affect only your preferences and the advertising experience, not the document creation tools themselves.
10. Cookies Set by Our CDN (Cloudflare)
QueckBiz is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and served through Cloudflare's content delivery network. Cloudflare may set a technical cookie called "__cf_bm" for bot management purposes. This cookie helps Cloudflare distinguish between legitimate user traffic and automated bot traffic, which protects the security and availability of QueckBiz. The "__cf_bm" cookie does not contain personally identifiable information and is strictly necessary for the security and proper functioning of the site. It is not subject to your consent choice and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.
11. Children and Cookies
QueckBiz is designed for use by adults operating businesses. We do not knowingly serve targeted advertising to children under the age of 13, and our advertising partner Google AdSense restricts personalized advertising to users who are not identified as minors. If you believe a child is using QueckBiz in a way that results in cookie-based tracking, please contact us at [email protected] immediately.
12. Contact Regarding Cookie Concerns
If you have specific questions or concerns about how cookies are used on QueckBiz that are not addressed in this policy, please contact our team at [email protected]. We are committed to transparency about our data practices and will respond to all cookie-related inquiries within 48 hours on business days. If you are an EU resident and believe your cookie consent rights have been violated, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. A list of EU data protection authorities and their contact details is available on the European Data Protection Board website at edpb.europa.eu. UK residents may contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
