Morocco VAT Calculator
This calculator converts a price excluding VAT into a price including VAT and back, using the usual Moroccan rates: 20%, 14%, 10% and 7%. It shows the net amount, the VAT amount, the gross amount and, in dirhams, the amount written in words (French). The calculation runs in your browser; nothing is sent.
How to use it
- Choose the direction: excl. VAT to incl. VAT, or the reverse.
- Enter the amount and pick the VAT rate (or a custom rate).
- Read the net amount, VAT and gross amount instantly, then copy the result.
The formulas
To go from excl. VAT to incl. VAT: gross = net × (1 + rate). To remove VAT from a gross price: net = gross ÷ (1 + rate). The VAT amount is the gross minus the net. Note that removing 20% from a gross price is not multiplying by 0.80, it is dividing by 1.20.
Worked examples
- 120 MAD incl. VAT at 20%: net = 120 ÷ 1.20 = 100.00 MAD; VAT = 20.00 MAD.
- 1,000 MAD excl. VAT at 20%: VAT = 200.00 MAD; gross = 1,200.00 MAD.
- 550 MAD excl. VAT at 10%: VAT = 55.00 MAD; gross = 605.00 MAD.
The applicable VAT rate depends on the type of product or service and changes with finance laws. This tool calculates; it does not decide which rate applies to you. Confirm it with your accountant or the tax authority.
